This article offers a look at some of the casualties of Israel’s war with Hezbollah in the summer of 2006: the trees of the
Galil. Through creating a timeline of familiar events and through text study, students willlearn about the value Judaism
places on nature and begin to appreciate investing time and energy into a project for which
they may not see the results. This article and lesson can be connected to the study of Israel or to Tu B'Shevat.
