Megillat Esther and its Hidden Message by Rabbi Menachem Leibtag

Students will explore the literary technique of satire in poetry by Shel Silverstein. Students will then learn about the comedic, satirical side of the Purim holiday and the traditional Purim shpiel. Finally, students will read the “Diary of a Wimpy King” Purim shpiel and, if possible, perform it for their school or synagogue.
