For your God brings you into a good land...a land of wheat and barley, grapevines and figs and pomegranates, a land of oil-olives and date honey. Devarim 8:7-8

Almost all Jewish holidays have foods that remind us of the meaning of the holiday. On Tu B'Shevat-the New Year for Trees-we think about (shivat haminim), the seven types of grains and fruits that are native to the land of Israel. Play our game with up to three friends to learn more!

INSTRUCTIONS

Roll the die and move that number of spaces. You may move in any direction as long as the spaces touch each other. You cannot retrace your move in the same turn.

SEVEN SPECIES SPACES

The first time a player lands on one of the spaces with a photograph, the player must read the paragraph-at the bottom of the page-about the pictured fruit or grain and complete one of the tasks listed. (See the box on the right for the color codes of each type of task.) Each task for a species must be completed by a different player. To help you keep track, assign a different color of M&M's to each player. Place one of your M&M's in the appropriate block each time you complete a task.
