We live in a specialized world. There are stores just for stationery, a magazine just for owners of beagles, and a website for buying socks. In each place we find passionate individuals who believe they have found the best solution to our needs for communication, for leisure, for fashion.

Paradoxically, we live our lives as generalists. We need to solve problems, choosing from as many options as possible. They say that when all one has is a hammer, everything looks like a nail; that's why we want to go to a hardware store which offers a full range of tools.

At Behrman House we can provide you with the variety and range of curricular tools you need:

• Textbooks and other materials for your school. We offer Judaica from kindergarten through high school, in all subjects and in all styles of presentation. And Hebrew from the siddur-based Hineni series, to the modern language of Shalom Ivrit, to the charming "dessert" of Ulpan Alef. All are supported by strong, practical teachers' guides.

• Technology to expand your educational options. Now your students can practice Hebrew at home with CD-based learning. Parents can join their children, using those same CDs or our Family Companions. There are free Hebrew practice pages posted on our website. All these expand your school by making the home an integral part of it

• An ongoing dialogue. You hear from us with periodic emailed teaching tips. Our emailed
  "In the Classroom" series, also posted on our website, offers case studies of successful classroom strategies, assessment techniques, and a multitude of other tools. And of course you can share your ideas with colleagues via our on-line Educators' Lounge
