New Bible Book on Its Way
By Scott E. Blumenthal

Recently, a number of educators have asked for a new third-fifth grade Bible book—one with a faithful translation of text, more critical-thinking questions, activities, and food for thought. In the words of one educator, "We want to engage the students in real Bible study."

I am pleased to be the author and editor. During the next few months, education directors and teachers will be using our sample chapter with approximately one hundred fifty students in each of the three target grades. These educators will then

critique the chapter, evaluating editorial and pedagogic content, design, age-appropriateness, and classroom effectiveness. We will incorporate their comments and reactions as we move into the book’s final stages of development.

For those of you who are looking for a fresh, energetic, and stimulating Bible book that is ideal for today’s curious and critical third-fifth graders, hold a spot in your curriculum. Your copy will arrive on the Golem Plan in April 2006.
