GET THE FULL IMPACT FROM PHOTOGRAPHS

Photographs area resource of enormous potential. Use them to engage the students in the material, and teach the students how to "read" a photograph and learn from it

  1. Ask the students to look at a photograph and write or tell a story about what is happening in it, or what happened immediately before or after the photograph was taken.

  2. Ask students to write an alternative caption for a photograph, and ask them why they wrote what they did.

  3. Ask students if any photographs are missing. Find out why, and what the captions should be.
