You can select videos from an impressive number of websites, including YouTube, TeacherTube, and Vimeo.\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3eYou begin by creating a \x26ldquo;bulb\x26rdquo;, and assigning a topic, grade level and learning objective to it. Then you embed a video inside your \x26ldquo;bulb\x26rdquo;, add your questions, and specify the locations you want those questions to appear in the video. You can insert a reflective pause or a multiple-choice question, or instruct your students to check all that apply. Premium account holders have several additional options as well. Once your \x26ldquo;bulb\x26rdquo; is built, you can assign it to your class. For example, \x3ca href=\"http://www.educanon.com/curriculum/browse/european_history\"\x3ehere\x3c/a\x3e is a bulb you can share with your class about Anne Frank.\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3eTo sign up for an eduCanon account, start at the \x3ca href=\"http://www.educanon.com/signup\"\x3esignup\x3c/a\x3e link. If you or your students are already using Edmodo or Google, those credentials can be used on educanon, too. As a teacher, you can add classrooms to your account, and then add students by uploading a roster or by giving students a class code that they can use to find it.\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x3cstrong\x3eIn Your Classroom\x3c/strong\x3e\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26middot;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp; Use educanon to review Passover concepts. For example, this \x3ca href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baQfqoZrEvI\"\x3evideo from the students at Israel\x26rsquo;s Technion\x3c/a\x3e school is a great share. You can add questions to it that help your students review the different Passover symbols that the video highlights, as well as deeper thought questions. For example, when the robot in the video turns off the light to symbolize the plague of darkness, you can insert a question that asks your students why they think darkness was considered a plague. Why do they think the Egyptians would have found darkness so scary?\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26middot;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp; \x26nbsp;Educanon is a terrific tool to experiment with the flipped classroom. Create a video with questions, and send it to your students to view at home. It can either serve as a review for concepts you have already taught in class, or as an introduction to new ideas, so that when students come to class they will already be prepared with new material.\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26middot;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp;\x26nbsp; Don\x26rsquo;t limit yourself! Invite students to create their own lessons, or \x26ldquo;bulbs,\x26rdquo; too.\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x3cem\x3eDebbie Harris is the Director of Educational Technology at Solomon Schechter Day School of Metropolitan Chicago and blogs at \x3c/em\x3e\x3ca href=\"http://www.museforjews.com/\"\x3e\x3cem\x3ehttp://www.museforjews.com\x3c/em\x3e\x3c/a\x3e\x3cem\x3e.\x3c/em\x3e\x3c/p\x3e\n\x3cp\x3e\x26nbsp;\x3c/p\x3e\x3c/div\x3e\n \x3c/div\x3e\n \x3c/div\x3e\n \x3c/div\x3e\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\x3c/div\x3e \x3c/div\x3e" }
