Welcome the New Year with a Sticky Shofar!
Welcome the New Year in Hebrew with iTorah Blessings

Shanah Tovah from Behrman House!

Have you resolved to do more Jewish 'stuff' with your family this year?  Here are some links and ideas about the holidays to get you started:

Cook up some delicious Rockin' Moroccan Meatballs from Recipe Rachel, author of Get Cooking! A Jewish American Family Cookbook. Great for a festive holiday meal!

Visit the Behrman House Resource Libraries for activities, art projects, and lesson plans for the High Holidays.  Try searching for "challah cover" for a fun, free art project using apples for stamps.

Learn about the different types of shofarot and see how a shofar is made in this video from a shofar factory.

Send ecards to family and friends or play games (including Jewpardy!) at Babaganewz.

Play a skateboarding game that also teaches Rosh Hashanah vocabulary. The more “tricks” you land, the more points you earn!

Practice reading some of the brachot that we recite on the Jewish New Year (you’ll need to sign in with an email address).

Begin a meaningful discussion about what Judaism means to your older children by watching this short video from a young Jew. Or, watch this humorous video about High Holy Day services (great for middle schoolers).

How much does our family know about Rosh Hashanah? Take this quiz and find out.

Make community service placemats or try a new technique for making New Year's cards.

Here are some activity sheets your kids might enjoy.
