The New 2014-2015 Catalog is Here!
Prepare Parents for a Smooth Start to Next Year's Classes

We're giving your Online Learning Center classrooms a new makeover.

We always welcome your feedback about your experiences with the Online Learning Center so that we can make improvements to better your classroom needs. We're adding the option to renew licenses, , and more. Our goal is continuous improvement of the OLC so you can focus on your role as a Jewish mentor and role model.

Coming improvements for this year include:

  • License pass expiration will show next to each student's name on the class list page
  • New buttons help easily add and remove students to class
  • Classes are separated into 'Current' and 'Archived' classes
  • New notification alerts for ed directors, teachers, and students, let you know what's new and changes in your classes since you last logged in
  • Notification summary page also links you right to what's new in your classes for faster entry to the OLC

These improvements and new features are to ensure that you can provide your teachers with a flexible, easy-to-use, and transformational tool that lets students engage in Jewish learning using the kinds of technology they use in the rest of their lives.

Over ---- students participated in blended learning experiences using the OLC last year, through private, secure virtual classes that supplemented and supported their communal learning experiences in congregational schools, day schools, and learning groups across the country

Automatic License Pass Recognition (and Option to Renew)

If a student already has a license that is not expired for the same license software, the site will ask the teacher or education director if they wish to pass a new license to that student, showing the ed director/teacher what the students license expiration date currently is, and informing them that they can extend that expiration date by the duration of the new license, and showing them what that student’s new license expiration date will be.

Next to each student's name the expiration for their license pass will show along with a 'renew' button to easily extend their license. There is also now a remove from class button too!

Expired (Archived) Classes Functionality

There will now be two tabs on the synagogue/school homepages for every OLC role.  One tab, the default one, will be titled “Current Classes”, which are classes which are not expired classes. The second tab will be called “Archived Classes” which will be all classes which have expired. Ed directors and teachers will be able to “unarchive” a class from the “edit classroom” page, extending the class for one year.

Attachments and videos within comments of an OLC post

Students now have the ability to upload videos, pdfs, and attachments in comment section on posts.

Notification Alerts/ Badges

Notifications will now show in the top left corner of the 'My Account' button on the Behrman House website. Each notification is clickable and will redirect to the page where the notification came from.

We are always at work making the Online Learning Center work better for you. Your comments are always welcome—simply click the green “Feedback” button from any page in the OLC and let us know about your experiences and any new features that would improve your experience.
