Getting teens to engage in school lessons can be tough. Thankfully, we have a resource to help.

Our Hot Topics series helps students discuss today's thorniest issues and provide opportunities for teens to develop personal responses to them.

This week, with NFL playoffs winding down and the 50th Super Bowl approaching, we feature Hot Topics: Making Football Safer

In an effort to protect football players from head injuries that can lead to degenerative brain disease, some fans are advocating for increased safety measures, while others don't want to see their favorite sport changed.

In Hot Topics: Making Football Safer students will be able to:

  • Consider whether football is a healthy sport or a dangerous one
  • Study Jewish texts related to staying safe and protecting others
  • Develop a campaign to educate student athletes in their schools about the danger of concussions

Discuss the price of a good tackle now with your copy of Hot Topics: Making Football Safer.

Each Hot Topics edition includes an article, a lesson plan for a 50-minute class, and a glossary of terms. A new topic will be available every two weeks for $3.99.
