Have You Discovered JEDLAB?

Written by Behrman House Staff, 10 of July, 2013

A new educator group has sprung up on Facebook, tended by PEJE's Ken Gordon and friends. Now 1,100 members strong, JEDLAB is an idea tank, a bookgroup, a resource, a kvelling spot, . . . a community.

Designed as a "network of Jewish education people passionate about redesigning the Jewish ed ecosystem", JEDLAB welcomes members from the broader community: teachers, parents, funders, organizational leaders, writers, academics, students, communal professionals, and more.

The Jewish Week recently hailed JEDLAB as "the latest hotspot forum for Jewish educators."

Recent member posts and discussions have included a surpising video on what stops and what encourages creative thinking in children, how to engage students in a multiage class group, ways to foster a friendly work environment, and ideas sparked by Ron Wolfson's new book, Relational Judaism. It's also been a great way to follow this week's RealSchool Summer Sandbox, where educators came together to develop new ideas and models for vibrant learning.

Sound interesting? You can read more about JEDLAB on Ken's blog. Visit JEDLAB on Facebook to request membership.
