Yes, the school year is just ending--and the planning cycle for next year will soon be in full swing. At Behrman House we are looking forward to helping you get ready for fall and a new year. Here are a few tips to help things go smoothly when you place your school order.

Get advice: You know the goals you have for your students; we can help you match learning materials to those goals. You can find advice for choosing Hebrew materials on our website here. We also have a pull-out planning guide for Hebrew and Judaica materials in our catalog, or online for download here. Check the TEACH menu tab  on our homepage to find details on many of our course materials, including Hebrew in Harmony, Kol Yisrael, Hineni, Mitkadem, CHAI , and our Modern Hebrew materials. Plan your order: Write out what you need in advance. Check titles or product numbers and anticipate the quantities you will need. You save money when you consolidate your order, have everything shipped together, and avoid last minute orders requiring expedited delivery. Our goal is to process orders within one business day so that you receive your materials quickly. We can’t make changes to your order once it has been processed.

Place your order: You are welcome to order by phone, fax, or email. When placing a phone order please allow time for us to read back and verify your full order. This will help us make sure you get everything you need the first time. Can’t reach us on the phone? Don’t have time to call? Just send us an email and include your customer number, the billing and shipping addresses, and a phone number where we can reach you if necessary. We will verify your order before shipping. Please understand that we cannot accept orders left in phone messages.

Don’t forget, if you placed your school order online last year, you can use it to plan your next order. Simply log in at behrmanhouse.com, click on “My Account” at the top of the home page, choose “My Order History” from the menu on the left, and then click “View Past Invoices.” You can see and print out past orders, and even click “Repeat This Order” to add all those items to your shopping cart to start a new order.

Beat the rush and order early—we can hold your order for later delivery. Just let us know at the beginning of your order (or put a message in the comment section of your online order) that you wish us to hold your order, and let us know what date you wish it to be shipped.

Check your order: When your order arrives, we strongly suggest that you unpack and check it immediately, using the detailed invoice included with your shipment. Sometimes individual cartons in a large order get misplaced once they arrive, or eager colleagues remove their books before you have fully checked in your order. Your order has a tracking number and is insured; claims to UPS for missing or damaged shipments must be made within 30 days. 

Locate your invoice: In addition to the notification you get at time of shipment, you will get a complete invoice with your order. You can find it in a red plastic pouch attached to the outside of one of the boxes of your order. After checking your order, please use this invoice to pay for your materials, and be sure to include the invoice number on the check to ensure accurate credit to your school account. Missing a past invoice? You can get a copy by emailing accounting.
