Teachers as Partners: Easing the Way into the Online Learning Center

Written by Behrman House Staff, 25 of April, 2012

How can I get my teachers excited and motivated about using the Online Learning Center?

That’s the most common question education directors ask as we roll out the new Online Learning Center.

We understand. Education directors find the OLC and its multi-media resources highly appealing and they want to use it but they need help motivating their teachers. My teachers are comfortable with the way we do things now. My teachers don’t like change. They are afraid of technology. They are part-time and I’m reluctant to ask them to try something new. I’d like help training my teachers to use the new digital classroom. Sound familiar?

We can help. Here’s how:
1. Invite your teachers to sign up for our free (20–30 minutes) weekly webinars that will introduce them to the OLC. Click here to register for the webinars, from now through mid-June. There is no limit to how many people from your school or synagogue can attend. They can log on from any location.
2. Can’t make the webinars? Click here for recordings of the webinars we’ve held so far.
3. Prefer to watch shorter video tutorials of 1–2 minutes each? They’re available here too.
4. If you want personal guidance, customized for your school, contact Terry Kaye for ways our Consulting Group can help. We can work with you and your staff in person, via Skype, or in a webinar. Not only that—if you’re simply too busy to train your teachers yourself, we’ll handle it entirely for you. You can participate, learning along with them.

And don’t forget that our Consulting Group is available for professional development of all kinds. Our most popular sessions are:
      • Classroom Management
      • Student Engagement
      • Using Technology to Advance Your Curriculum
      • Enriching Hebrew Classes (all materials)
      • Best Practices for Using Behrman House Hebrew
      • Assessment and Feedback

For more information about these learning opportunities, contact Terry Kaye.

We are here to serve you in the way that you find most helpful.
