Smile when they arrive and decide to make the most of it. After all, it’s only a few hours.

Insist that your family invite the family down the street because you know the father is serving in the military overseas.

Look forward to seeing some new faces around the table.

Encourage them to come back later when she’ll be home.

Invite them in and entertain them until she arrives.

“Can I serve anyone the last piece?”

“That was delicious! Anybody want seconds?”

There’s a new kid who just joined your Hebrew school. You *

Go up to her right away and introduce yourself.

Give her the scoop on your teacher and joke around with her to make her feel welcome.
