About Sam Glaser
Sam Glaser's soulful music has become part of the fabric of Jewish life in communities worldwide. Named one of the top ten Jewish performers in the US by Moment magazine, Glaser is equally comfortable behind a grand piano in intimate solo concerts, leading his eight-piece band or headlining with full orchestra. While he typically performs in synagogues and Jewish Community Centers, he has appeared at such venues as L.A.'s Greek Theater, Gibson Amphitheater, Staples Center and Dodger Stadium as well as on Broadway and at the White House. He has traveled the world over in concert, from Sydney to London to Hong Kong to Tel Aviv.
Glaser performs for the widest array of audiences of any Jewish artist; his devoted fans range from those in the Reform and Conservative movements to the Modern Orthodox and Chassidim. He has performed at the top Jewish national conventions including General Assembly, Limmud, Central Conference of American Rabbis, Coalition for Advancement in Jewish Education, Cantors Assembly, Union for Reform Judaism’s Biennial, Orthodox Union and Hadassah.
Sam’s compositions have enigmatic appeal; they are complex and catchy, wise and witty, youthful and seasoned. His best-selling Jewish CDs include The Promise, Hallel, Nigun/Voice of the Soul, Presence, The Bridge, A Day in the Life and the award-winning children's musical Kol Bamidbar. He was one of the first artists signed by Sony/JMG Records, a Jewish music label that released Inspired: Best of Sam Glaser and Sam Glaser's Rockin' Chanukah Revue. Since 1995 Glaser has performed in an average of fifty cities a year. His energetic style and passionate delivery never fails ignite the spirit of audiences of all sizes and age groups. Countless fans credit Sam’s music with their enhanced connection with God and the mission of the Jewish People. His annual tours frequently culminate with summertime concerts throughout Israel, making him a unique ambassador for the Israeli cause. In addition to his concerts, Sam frequently leads Shabbatons where he is featured as Cantorial Soloist and Scholar in Residence. As an informed and committed Jew, Sam is able to speak from the heart and lead by example.
One of Sam’s gifts is working with young people; Glaser acted as director of the renowned Yad b'Yad Youth Theater Troupe, music specialist at Camp Ramah, music director for the JCC Macabee Games and as music director for the Brandeis Collegiate Institute in Simi Valley, CA.
