Online Learning Center Takes Off

Over 670 teachers and 4,000 students nationwide are using the Online Learning Center for Hebrew and Jewish studies. After such a strong lift-off, educators around the country have been reporting back about implementing this innovative new platform in their schools.

Coming Soon: Multimedia Lessons from Israel21c and The Jewish Lens

In the next few months, Behrman House will release two new series of multimedia content and lesson plans for the Online Learning Center. These will add to a robust catalog of over 2000 resources, a full online curriculum for Hebrew education, and interactive Jewish Studies software—all fully integrated and easy to use in the Behrman House Online Learning Center.

Updates: Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

We're back to full power! After 14 days in the dark, we're getting back to normal here in our main office. Our employees have returned from their sojourn in the wilderness, and our systems are almost fully restored. Throughout the outage, the Online Learning Center, remained fully operational, with tech support available. Shipping continued, and we were up to date with your orders after only three business days.

Student Safety Online: A Look at the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Each day that they’re in school, we protect our children with a variety of tools: security cameras, safety scissors, drug-free school zones, fire drills, stair railings, and non-toxic art supplies, to name a few. But what about when they sit down at the computer and go online? That's where COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act comes in. COPPA compliance was a guiding force in creating many of the features of the Online Learning Center

Online Learning Center: Performance Update

It's been an exciting time. Over 200 schools have enrolled in the OLC, with more than 600 teachers and 3500 students successfully participating in online classes, using digital Hebrew and creating multimedia projects and discussions. A few schools have had difficulties, but over 80% of support ticket issues have been resolved within 24 hours. We are committed to making the OLC work for every school.
