When people think of Smart Boards, they always think of a particular product that is an interactive whiteboard that shows a projection of your computer screen, and on which you can use a pen. This product is known as the Smart Board Interactive Whiteboard” and it is one of the more expensive products Smart Tech makes. The smart board Interactive Display is an add-on which you can install on top of an existing flat panel high definition television (HDTV) that places an extra layer of glass on top of your television screen and adds the Smart Board technology to a regular HDTV. There are currently two types of add-on units for HDTV’s, the “Display Frame” and the “Interactive Display Overlay".
If you already have an HDTV display mounted in one of your classrooms, this can be a very economical solution for getting a Smart Board in your classroom.
