Cherishing the Elderly

Vayikra 19:32

You shall rise up before the aged, and glorify the face of an elder. You shall fear your God. I am God.

מִפְּנֵי שֵֹיבָה תָּקוּם וְהָדַרְתָּ פְּנֵי זָקֵן וְיָרֵאתָ מֵּאֱלֹהֶיךָ אֲנִי ה׳׃

How Do You Cherish The Elderly?

Everyone has at least one older person who is involved in his or her life. When you answer the following questions, think of how you would behave with a particular older person.

We must recognize the "beauty" of older people's past and current contributions to their community and family. The elderly deserve to be treated with respect, understanding, and special sensitivity.
