Knowledge of the Land of Israel

Bereishit 13:14-15

Lift your eyes and look from where you are to the north, south, east, and west, for all the land that you see will I give to you and your descendants forever.

שָׂא נָא עֵינֶיךָ וּרְאֵה מִן הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה שָׁם צָפֹנָה וָנֶגְבָּה וָקֵדְמָה וָיָמָּה: כִּי אֶת כָּל הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה רֹאֶה לְךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה וּלְזַרְעֲךָ עַד עוֹלָם
Bereishit 13:17

Get up, walk about the land, through its length and its breadth, for I give it to you.

קוּם הִתְהַלֵּךְ בָּאָרֶץ לְאָרְכָּהּ וּלְרָחְבָּהּ כִּי לְךָ אֶתְּנֶנָּה
יְדִיעַת אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל
Yediat Eretz Yisrael

The Jewish people have ancient ties to the land of Israel. The more familiar we are with the land of our ancestors, the more connected to it we will be.
