Yehudah Halevi, 1075-1141, Jewish poet and philosopher

Rabbi Abba used to kiss the cliffs of Akko. Rabbi Hanina used to repair broken sections of the roads in the Land.... Rabbi Hiyya ben Gamda used to roll himself in its dust, in keeping with, “Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and love her dust.” (Psalms 102:15).
